Winsupply announced Monday that it has added a new “local company” in a coastal North Carolina market that is “growing fast.”

Winsupply of North Wilmington will provide HVAC parts and equipment to New Hanover and Brunswick counties, whose growth has resulted in “a ton of demand for residential new construction material,” Conner Leahr, the company’s president, said in a statement.

Winsupply’s local companies are majority-owned by the Ohio-based distributor with minority stakes owned by their management. Leahr joined Winsupply in 2023 and built an HVAC division “from the ground up” at neighboring Wilmington Winlectric.

Rob McCullough, Winsupply’s area leader in the region, said that the new subsidiary would complement its nearby electrical and plumbing companies.

“There are many custom homes in this area with the need for high-end products,” McCullough added. “Being on the beach, with high humidity, an HVAC location made a lot of sense.”

Winsuppply is the no. 3 company on ID’s latest Big 50 list.
