P&E, founded in 1982, serves contractors and homeowners in southern Maine, while Hynes Plumbing was established four years ago by John Hynes, whose family owns a 70-year-old electrical supply company in Plattsburgh.

The latter deal, Granite Group officials said, would see the company operate alongside the Hynes’ electrical supply business in a single facility to serve the area’s contractors. It also represents “a significant geographic expansion for the company.”

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The Granite Group also said Monday that it would open a new branch in Caribou, Maine, this month.

“Our growth is driven by great people and strong local businesses that share our commitment to customers,” Granite Group CEO Bill Condron said in a statement. “Whether through acquisitions or new branches, we’re focused on building on that foundation and bringing even greater value to the markets we serve.”
