Atlas Copco announced Tuesday that it has acquired Cypress Equipment Rental Inc., a Louisiana distributor of portable compressors.
The company and its staff of 14 serves the region’s oil & gas, offshore, petrochemical, abrasive blasting, and bridge and pipeline construction sectors. Cypress posted 2025 revenues of about $17.6 million, Atlas Copco officials said.
Andrew Walker, the president of Atlas Copco’s power technique business, said the deal would strengthen its presence in the U.S. portable compressor market and specialized oil and gas applications.
“The strategic location between New Orleans and Baton Rouge places Cypress at the heart of one of the most active industrial corridors in the U.S.,” Walker said in the announcement.
Atlas Copco also announced that Henrik Elmin, the president of the company’s industrial technique segment, plans to leave the company in early September.
