SHAKOPEE, MN — Dichtomatik has announced its addition of a new computerized numerical control (CNC) operation to its list of capabilities and services. This new capability, located in Houston, TX, allows Dichtomatik to provide sealing solutions with fast lead times and low quantity minimums to its customers. Dichtomatik is able to machine a wide variety of different seals, o-rings and custom molded rubber shapes on demand. As a result customers have the opportunity to decrease downtime by receiving needed parts faster than traditional molding and pressing processes.

The CNC operation is capable of creating fluid power seals, oil seals, o-rings, rubber-metal bonded seals and custom molded rubber shapes in a wide variety of sizes and materials for many different dynamic applications. With the information from a two dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) drawing, the CNC operation rotates the shape around a specified diameter to precisely lathe cut the sealing product. The many different types of materials the CNC operation can craft into seals includes, but not is limited to, nitrile rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, Teflon ®, polyurethane, and rubber-metal bonded.
